Elevating TEKLYNX through Strategic Media Relations
TEKLYNX, a global leader in integrated barcode and RFID labeling software, selected AFFIRM Agency to develop and execute an ongoing strategic media relations program designed to elevate the company’s thought leadership and innovation across multiple industry segments. AFFIRM also implemented a successful awards submission strategy that earned international recognition for TEKLYNX’s leaders and products.
The ask
We were asked to research editorial opportunities across five different vertical industries whose audiences are key business stakeholders and prospects for TEKLYNX. We were also tasked with juggling multiple long-lead and short-lead media pitches along with crafting case studies, trend articles, and expert articles, building, growing, and sustaining media relationships to position TEKLYNX as a trustworthy, credible source for news and information. We were also asked to schedule editorial meetings with key publishers, and find compelling, consistent ways to multipurpose news across different channels.








The process
Starting with a thorough audit of media outlets and editorial opportunities for the year, we mapped out priorities for coverage based on product, sales and business goals. Consistent client collaboration and engagement yielded story ideas and generation of newsworthy content designed specifically for priority coverage. In addition, AFFIRM built, established and grew relationships with media publishers, reporters inclusive of the client through successful editorial meetings so that TELYNX would be positioned as thought leaders in the space. Ongoing strategic awards entries and submissions and wins were leveraged for additional coverage.
The result
Over the course of a year and a half of consistent, proactive, strategic business-to-business media relations, AFFIRM achieved more than 80 million PR impressions across 16 different outlets. In addition to earned media coverage, we secured editorial meetings with relevant publishers and journalists, helped bridge new relationships with publishers covering the emerging cannabis industry, an earned podcast opportunity and helped TEKLYNX win eight prominent industry awards.
