AFFIRM Wins Four American Advertising Awards

(Pewaukee, Wis… February 28, 2017) AFFIRM (www.affirmagency.com) won a total of four ADDY awards at the 2017 American Advertising Awards Show hosted at UW-Madison’s Union South on Saturday, February 25, 2017. The American Advertising Awards are the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, aiming to recognize and reward creative excellence in the art of advertising and attracting more than 50,000 entries annually through local competitions across the country. The American Advertising Federation of Madison Awards is the only Southeastern Wisconsin point of entry to the regional and national American Advertising Awards.

AFFIRM won a GOLD ADDY for the “One and the Same: Drugged Driving” TV Commercial in the category of Public Service Television. The TV commercial was created as a joint effort for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s ZERO IN WISCONSIN campaign to promote safe, sober driving and the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s DOSE OF REALITY campaign to prevent prescription painkiller abuse. The commercial portrays situations where being under the influence of prescription drugs while driving has the same impact on an individual as driving under the influence of alcohol.

The agency also won a GOLD ADDY for the rebrand of prominent Madison, Wisconsin-based law firm Cullen Weston Pines & Bach, LLP to Pines Bach in the category of Integrated Brand Identity Campaign. The rebrand consisted of a new name and corresponding tagline, new brand mark, updated website and stationery, a paid media campaign, and a launch event – Deep Roots, New Branches – that included a donation to the Madison Parks Foundation to help replace the city’s ash trees that have been felled by the emerald ash borer infestation.

AFFIRM will advance to the Regional American Advertising Awards competition in Minnesota later this year for their “One and the Same: Drugged Driving” TV Commercial and Pines Bach rebrand campaign.

The agency also won an ADDY for the METRO #61616 Ridership campaign in the category of Guerilla Marketing. The #61616 event took place in Cincinnati, Ohio on National Dump the Pump Day, 6/16/16 with a goal of reinventing the METRO bus brand and increasing ridership among young Cincinnati professionals and other choice riders.

Lastly, AFFIRM won an ADDY in the category of Advertising Industry Self-Promotion for the firm’s 2016 Holiday Mannequin Challenge video.
