Spark Outing, Holiday Edition
It’s our purpose at AFFIRM to, “Help make people’s lives better.” Whether it’s inspiring people to ditch their wheels on Car Free Day or giving them a “Dose of Reality” about curbing prescription opioid abuse, we strive to make a difference through our work in change-behavior marketing.
Stepping away from our desks this year, we made a commitment to directly make a person’s life better through community outreach! For our quarterly Spark Event, we signed up to volunteer at The Salvation Army of Waukesha. Their mission is “Caring about the homeless, the hungry, the lonely, the lost,” which coincides with our own purpose very nicely, so we rolled up our sleeves and got to work!
The first “Spark Squad” signed up for the Community Meal Perpetration and Community Meal Service jobs. After just a few hours of set up, meal service, and cleaning up the kitchen, we all felt an immense sense of accomplishment and fulfillment. It’s true what is said about lending a helping hand – giving back to the community truly does give back to you – 10 fold. Thetrend of goodwill will continue as two more “Spark Squads” volunteer throughout the year and into 2018!
