Staples Marketing Wins Eight American Advertising Awards

(Pewaukee, WI…February 23, 2015) Staples Marketing, LLC (www.staplesmarketing.com) won a total of eight ADDY awards at the 2015 American Advertising Awards Show hosted at UW-Madison’s Union South on Friday, February 20, 2015. The American Advertising Awards are the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting more than 50,000 entries every year through local competitions around the country. The American Advertising Awards competition aims to recognize and reward creative excellence in the art of advertising. The American Advertising Federation of Madison Awards is the only Southeastern Wisconsin point of entry to the regional and national American Advertising Awards.
Staples Marketing won a GOLD ADDY for the New York State STOP-DWI Program’s “Have A Plan” mobile application in the category of Apps – Mobile. “Have A Plan” was developed to connect would-be drivers with interactive information on the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. It provides facts about impaired driving, activities designed to gauge impairment, and means of contacting both alternative transportation providers and local authorities. The app encourages drivers to have a plan when drinking, and makes it much easier to do so.
The agency also won seven SILVER ADDY awards, including four in total for the Salt Lake City Police Department’s “Trucks Need Space!” campaign, which uses a variety of different media to remind drivers to drive safely around commercial trucks.
In 2014, Staples Marketing won a National SILVER ADDY for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s CHOOSE YOUR RIDE! vehicle wrap, after winning both BEST OF SHOW and two GOLD ADDYs at the District 8 Regional Competition. This April, both the “Have A Plan” mobile app and the “Trucks Need Space!” campaign will be entered in the regional competition.
