Amtrak Introduces new Thruway I-41 Bus Service to Green Bay
(Pewaukee, Wis…October 23, 2019) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation recently introduced the Amtrak Thruway I-41 bus service that allows riders round- trip transportation between Milwaukee and Green Bay with stops in Appleton, Oshkosh, and Fond du Lac. The bus service also provides a seamless connection to and from Chicago via the Amtrak Hiawatha train.
In 2004, AFFIRM began working with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation on the Amtrak Hiawatha Passenger Rail Service Advertising Program and since then, ridership has increased by 82.5%. AFFIRM is now working to promote the new Thruway I-41 bus service to residents in the Green Bay and Fox Cities area who may not be aware of the Amtrak Hiawatha service to Chicago. AFFIRM is using tactics such as geo-targeted online ads that direct users right to the Thruway bus ticket purchasing page on the Amtrak Hiawatha website; https://amtrakhiawatha.com/amtrak/bus-service.php
The Amtrak Thruway I-41 Bus Service features many of the same conveniences found on the Hiawatha trains, including free WIFI, at-seat plug ins, tables, and cupholders.
“It’s exciting to see the continuing growth and success of the Amtrak Hiawatha with the addition of the new Amtrak Thruway I-41 Bus Service,” said AFFIRM President Danny Mager. “Now residents of Northeast Wisconsin have a seamless way to travel to Chicago and back in the same day without having to worry about traffic, parking or road construction!”
