FLY LOCAL Campaign Takes Off for Dane County Regional Airport
(Pewaukee, Wis…March 21, 2017) Dane County Regional Airport (MSN) in Madison, with the help of AFFIRM, its contracted advertising agency, has launched a new marketing campaign. The FLY LOCAL campaign promotes the many benefits of flying out of MSN compared to other airports, including how it helps to support the local economy.
AFFIRM developed the FLY LOCAL campaign theme as an airport-specific take on the popular “Shop Local” and “Buy Local” rallying cries for small businesses and restaurants in communities like Madison. FLY LOCAL uses “locally sourced” Wisconsin animals – a flying cow, for example – to help portray the local nature of the airport and its many benefits compared to “big box airports” in other cities. Creative extends to media tactics such as outdoor, online, print, and Wisconsin Public Radio. There is also a campaign-specific landing page where people can pledge to FLY LOCAL for the chance to win a $250 Dane Buy Local gift card. As part of this campaign, Dane County Regional Airport will sponsor and be present at dozens of local events in Dane County. A FLY LOCAL booth will be set up at concerts, festivals, and other events including the Dane County Farmer’s Market where people can take the FLY LOCAL pledge, learn more about the Airport, and get fun, free FLY LOCAL items.
