Stand Up, Step Up: AmeriCorps’ Serve Wisconsin Launches New Recruitment Campaign
(Pewaukee, Wis…September 11, 2017) This September, Serve Wisconsin launched its new AmeriCorps member recruitment campaign. Centered on the theme “Stand Up, Step Up,” the campaign encourages youth in Wisconsin to give back to their communities and those in need by stepping up to serve as an AmeriCorps member. AFFIRM developed the campaign’s creative identity, brand strategy, media and marketing plans to connect with AmeriCorps’ target audience and inspire service and leadership in Wisconsin’s youth.
Kicking off in a press conference on the National Day of Service, September 11, Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch, Board Chair of Serve Wisconsin, Paula Horning, and Melinda Wyant Jansen of Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee were joined by nearly 50 AmeriCorps members and alumni to speak on the new campaign and the organization’s goals to increase membership in order to better serve the community in its areas of need.
AmeriCorps members provide intensive services through non-profit, faith-based and community organizations to tackle problems such as disaster relief, child education, public safety and housing throughout Wisconsin. Members are given the valuable opportunity to enrich their own lives through volunteerism, while cultivating important life skills including teamwork, altruism, resourcefulness, a positive outlook and so much more.
