AFFIRM Renews Contract with Long Island Rail Road Through 2022
(Pewaukee, Wis. July 17,2020) AFFIRM, an award-winning, full-service marketing agency with offices in Pewaukee and Madison, Wisconsin will continue its work with long-time client Long Island Rail Road on the TRANSIT SOLUTIONS marketing campaign through 2022. The TRANSIT SOLUTIONS program reduces air pollution and traffic congestion in Long Island by offering pre-tax transit benefits to local employers and hosting Long Island’s annual Car Free Day each September.
The new two-year contract provides additional funding to expand the TRANSIT SOLUTIONS program across Long Island, when previously the program focused solely on Nassau County. Additionally, AFFIRM will promote LIRR Double Track and Third Track Expansion projects, and the long-awaited East Side Access service to Grand Central Station targeted for completion in December 2022.

Since AFFIRM began its partnership with Long Island Rail Road in 2008, more than 3,700 companies and organizations have learned about the advantages of pre-tax transit benefit programs. Major Long Island employers have implemented pre-tax transit benefits for their employees after connecting with the TRANSIT SOLUTIONS program, including Northwell Health, NYU Winthrop Hospital, Leviton, and Macy’s.
In 2013, AFFIRM planned, branded, and executed Long Island’s first annual Car Free Day. Six years later, 5,824 Long Islanders pledged to be car free or car-lite on the seventh annual Car Free Day, a 128% increase from the first event in 2013. This resulted in 128,000+ reduced miles of driving and 64 tons of reduced CO2 emissions.
