AFFIRM Produces Rita’s Story for Milwaukee Habit for Humanity’s Gala
(Pewaukee, Wis…October 24, 2019) AFFIRM Agency, an award-winning, full-service advertising agency in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, was honored to produce Rita’s Story for the Milwaukee Habit for Humanity’s Framing the Future Gala. Rita’s Story tells the account of Milwaukee Habitat homeowner Rita, who gave her testimony about her and her family’s life before they worked with Habitat. Rita retells the process of working with Habitat, the volunteers who helped them build their home, and the impact it had on her family. The video also touches on the opportunity the new home gave Rita to build upon her in-home business making soap.
Taking place over a period of several months, the video uses footage taken of different groups participating including Sargento Foods, Kohl’s Corporation, Thrivent, and others. The shoot featured homes being built in the Midtown area of Milwaukee on north 28th and 29th streets. To provide a different perspective of the neighborhood, showing proximity to downtown Milwaukee with the skyline in the distance, AFFIRM shot dramatic drone footage.
The title used at the beginning, “Transforming Neighborhoods. Transforming Lives” reflects the overall impact that Milwaukee Habitat is having on Milwaukee and the families who benefit from their services. The video included facts regarding the need for affordable housing in Milwaukee along with data on the impact that Milwaukee Habitat has had on the community.
Rita’s Story took over 80 hours to produce with the majority of time being donated pro bono by AFFIRM to Milwaukee Habitat.
The Framing the Future Gala included an attendance of four hundred people, raising more than $370k, a new record in Milwaukee Habitat Gala history! The Gala also helped Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity exceed their fundraising goal by more than $60k! The proceeds will be invested into the Milwaukee community, helping families in need of safe, affordable housing.
