Wisconsin Department of Justice Announces KNOW METH “Altered State” Campaign
(Pewaukee, Wis….June 20, 2018) Wisconsin’s Department of Justice, in partnership with Marshfield Clinic Health System, Northwoods Coalition, and the Alliance for Wisconsin Youth, has kicked off a second phase of the public awareness campaign KNOW METH, warning of the dangers and economic impact of methamphetamine use. The theme of the campaign, Altered State, created by AFFIRM Agency, uses iconic Wisconsin imagery transforming and left in a state of decay, much like meth use does to the user’s body.
KNOW METH was initially launched in January 2018 with the purpose of preventing Wisconsin citizens from using methamphetamine and encouraging those who are addicted to seek treatment. The newly launched phase will include targeted online, video, television, radio ads, and print materials which can be found on www.knowmethwi.org. The campaign will target over 35 counties in Northern and Western Wisconsin where meth use is most prevalent.
“Methamphetamine cases analyzed by the Wisconsin State Crime Laboratories has increased nearly 500% from 2010 to 2017,” said Laura Monagle, APR, Vice President of Client Services and Public Relations at AFFIRM. “AFFIRM Agency is privileged to join the fight to help reduce the devastation it has on families and communities across our state. Knowledge is power, and that is why KNOW METH is so important.”
