AFFIRM WINS FOUR AMERICAN ADVERTISING AWARDS
(Pewaukee, Wis…February 18, 2020) AFFIRM won a total of four ADDY awards at the 2020 American Advertising Awards Show hosted at Monona Terrace in Madison on Saturday, February 15, 2020. The annual awards show is put on by the American Advertising Federation (AAF) – Madison Chapter. Nationally, the American Advertising Awards attract almost 35,000 entries and is the industry’s most representative competition. Entries that are recognized with Gold awards gain automatic entry to the regional and national American Advertising Awards, with Silver awards being eligible for a fee. Not only is receiving an ADDY award a great honor, entering in the competition benefits the entire advertising industry with entry dollars helping to fund programs such as public service, internships, advertising education, and more.
AFFIRM won a GOLD ADDY in the Online/Interactive Apps, Games and Virtual Reality category for the Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation Donald Driver Safety Quiz. The quiz was created to encourage drivers to buckle up – every trip, every time- when driving in order to help achieve zero preventable deaths on Wisconsin roads. The Driver Safety Quiz features Green Bay football legend Donald Driver and uses a fun, interactive game to test people’s Driver Safety knowledge while giving them a chance to win an autographed Donald Driver football.
In the Out-of-Home & Ambient Media category, AFFIRM was awarded a SILVER ADDY for the AtwoodFest 2019 Promotional Poster. Atwoodfest is an annual neighborhood festival held every summer on the near east side of Madison, Wisconsin featuring a wide selection of food, arts & crafts vendors, and more than 20 regional music acts. The inspiration behind this year’s Atwoodfest poster was the classic WOODSTOCK dove image from 1969 combined with festival namesake and original Madison Mayor David Atwood as the dove sitting on the guitar and promoting the festival’s “2 Days of Peace, Music & Community”.
The agency also won a SILVER ADDY in the Public Service Film, Video & Sound category for the video it produced for Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity titled “Rita’s Story”, which tells the inspirational story of Rita and how becoming a Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity homeowner positively changed her personal and professional life. Along with testimonials from Rita and her family, the video uses footage from different groups that participated in the building of homes in the Midtown area of Milwaukee, drone footage, and data that shows the positive impact that Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity has had on the community. The video was originally produced to be shown at Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity’s annual Framing the Future Gala and helped the organization raise more than $370,000! Check out “Rita’s Story” here.
Finally, AFFIRM won a SILVER ADDY in the Advertising Industry Self-Promotion category for its agency Holiday E-Blast. The festive client e-mail titled “Holiday Letters from AFFIRM” features an animated Christmas tree made up of AFFIRM’s logo with each ornament featuring a photo of an AFFIRM team member with a “holiday letter” telling about their personal and work highlights from the year.
