Highlighting the advantages of pre-tax transit benefits
The ask
Long Island Rail Road needed to reach out to the public to help them learn more about transit services, such as the train and bus, in order to reduce congestion and improve the air quality in Long Island, New York.
The process
The TRANSIT SOLUTIONS program was developed to promote pre-tax transit benefits for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and the Long Island Rail Road. This included developing the name and brand identity for a program that hadn’t previously existed. We developed educational and outreach materials across a variety of tactics, including print, digital, online, out-of-home and displays; all with a consistent look, theme, and messaging. The program is supported by a dedicated website at www.TransitSolutions.org.
The result
The current campaign, Everyone LOVES a Winner, has been very successful. As of February 2025, 5,449 Long Island employers/groups have been contacted, resulting in 3,651 in-person presentations/customized proposals being made. The campaign website attracts thousands of visits each year from Long Island employers and employees wanting to learn more about transit and pre-tax transit benefits. Many major Long Island employers and schools now offer the pre-tax transit benefit because of first being educated about it by the campaign.
