WisDOT and Donald Driver Announce Click It or Ticket Mobilization and New TV Spot
(May 26, 2017…Pewaukee, WI) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) announced its annual Click It or Ticket mobilization at a press conference on May 22nd which was held at Fire Station #2 in Milwaukee. Former Green Bay Packers star and Zero in Wisconsin spokesperson, Donald Driver, helped to launch this year’s law enforcement safety initiative by encouraging all drivers and passengers throughout the state to wear a safety belt. The Fire Station was a fitting location since firefighters respond to many of the car accidents and crashes. Donald was even “fitted,” and presented with his very own fire helmet as Honorary Fire Chief.
In addition to its law enforcement efforts, WisDOT will also be running TV, radio, and online messaging created by AFFIRM, many of which feature Driver. The newest spot in the campaign, “BAD DATE,” was also unveiled and highlights the importance of everyone in a vehicle buckling up. An unbelted passenger’s body can become a projectile inside a vehicle in even a minor crash, injuring or killing his fellow riders.
“We wanted to communicate to the 10% of people who still don’t wear their seat belts that if you’re not going to do it for yourself, do it for your friends and loved ones who might be in the vehicle with you,” said AFFIRM Principal – Marketing Director Danny Mager. “By promoting this new message of Buckle Up: Every Ride, in Every Seat, we hope to further reduce the number of preventable deaths on Wisconsin roadways.”
