AFFIRM Provides Creative Services for Anti-Marijuana Campaign

Make the Right Choice - Let's Be Blunt

(Pewaukee, WI…November 30, 2015) The Milwaukee County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (MCSAPC), overseen by the Community Advocate Public Policy Institute, launched the Let’s Be Blunt public education campaign on November 16, 2015 with help from AFFIRM.

The goal of Let’s Be Blunt is to prevent marijuana use among developing adolescents by encouraging them to make better choices and help raise awareness. To effectively reach this audience, MCSAPC hosted a contest to encourage Milwaukee youth, ages 12 to 17, to design posters incorporating compelling, age-appropriate messages.

Based on teens’ submissions, AFFIRM and Mosaic Communications created the Let’s Be Blunt messaging and imagery. Creative includes outdoor and transit ads as well as a corresponding social media effort. Individuals can interact on the campaign’s online platforms (,, and use the hashtags #LetsBeBlunt and #NoNeedForWeed.

According to AFFIRM Principal – Creative Director, Steve Stocker, “We’re glad to be a part of this important effort for getting Milwaukee teens engaged in spreading the message on preventing marijuana use while raising awareness of the problem. The Let’s Be Blunt campaign lets kids know that no matter what their situation is, smoking marijuana isn’t the answer, and sharing positive messages will help others make better decisions.”
