How I started in this business:

I worked as a broadcast coordinator and writer for Campbell Mithun Esty in Chicago. One of my projects was writing Kroger commercials. Every day there was a different client and a different goal.

What I like most about my job:

Content creation gives me the opportunity to work on different formats, whether it’s blogging, social media posts, web copy, proofing, radio spots, or creating graphics.

When I’m not at work:

I am with my husband Clement and our kids, who are growing up too fast. When I’m not working, I’m usually at a sporting event or attending a school event with them. The best times with my family are days when there is nothing scheduled (although it is often hard to find white space on our calendars). I really enjoy that our children are a wide range of ages.

Best advice I ever received:

This too shall pass.” It is easy to get caught up in the moment and get worked up over something, usually minor. Over time, the big crisis or problem resolves or passes.

If I weren’t doing this:

I’d be writing for a sports company because the stakes are always changing in sports and there is always a lot of content. Because one never knows how the game or event is going to end, there is a huge amount of energy to pull from the crowd. I love gymnastics and just being a spectator. I would love to write about gymnastics, softball, and basketball.

To me, Positively Engaging Marketing means:

Being on the listening end of the conversation. Building a solid relationship with the client, connecting and making a positive impact are the ultimate goals.
