Search Engine Optimization in a Nutshell

SEO: everyone is talking about it, and you should be too.

What is SEO?

In short, SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, and it does exactly what it says – optimizes your website so that it gets maximum exposure in search engine results, without having to pay for it.

Why does SEO matter?

Optimizing your site will not only get you ranked higher in searches, it will essentially lead to more site traffic, and potential clients finding your site for the RIGHT reasons. In other words, much more potential business from people who are actually in need of your information/services.

How does SEO work?

By growing your visibility in non-paid (organic) search results, you’re not only increasing traffic, but you’re making things easier for the user. That is, SEO isn’t just about building websites for search engines, it’s actually about making your site better for humans. Search engine algorithms are constantly changing in attempts to mimic human behavior so that they can churn out the results you’re really looking for.

Where to start the SEO process?

Both humans and search engines want content they can trust. And, in the ever-changing SEO world, there’s always something new to learn. There are many great resources out there to get you started on the right SEO track.
