Getting to Know AFFIRM – Part 7
Ahh, summer in Milwaukee. Brewers games, beer gardens, brats on the grill, and … deep fried old fashioneds? Is it just me or do Milwaukee festival foods get crazier by the year? From cream puffs to chocolate covered bacon, deep fried cheese to pizza cones, you can find your favorite indulgence at one of our many summer festivals. I asked the AFFIRM team which festival food they can’t miss:
Emma: SAZ’S SAMPLER PLATTER FOR LIFE!
Karissa: This is so boring, but I am obsessed with kettle corn. Pretty sure I’ve eaten a large bag by myself in one sitting.
Katie: I go to State Fair every year solely for the deep fried mac ‘n cheese on a stick!
Ryan: It’s a really rare delicacy to these parts…. cheese curds.
Traci: Deep fried Oreos!
Erik: Good old fashioned State Fair corn on the cob, doused in butter.
Meaghan: CHEESE CURDS. Every time.
Danny: Deep fried eggplant sticks with marinara sauce!
Amy: I love deep fried mac ‘n cheese at State Fair, but also the BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich from Saz’s.
Anne: Every year I look forward to the newest thing that State Fair puts on a stick!
Ingrid: German Fest – Wiener Schnitzel
Roe: I can’t resist Mozzarella Sticks from Saz’s.
Cathy: I’m not generally a festival foodie, but the Fried Eggplant at Festa is a must. Venice Club is closed, but they do it there.
