AFFIRM Wins Best of Show at Business Marketing Association Milwaukee Bell Awards for Wisconsin’s DOSE OF REALITY


(Pewaukee, Wis. – April 28, 2017) AFFIRM Agency (www.affirmagency.com), a full-service marketing communications agency, was honored with Best of Show and a Bell Award from the Business Marketing Association (BMA) Milwaukee at the BMA’s 2017 Bell Awards banquet on April 27, 2017. The annual BMA Bell Awards showcase the best and most effective B2B work created by agencies, corporate marketers and vendor partners in southeast Wisconsin.

Out of 150 entries, AFFIRM received the BMA Best of Show and was the Bell Award winner in the category of Services Performed or Produced for Non-profit Organizations for its work on the Wisconsin Department of Justice DOSE OF REALITY campaign. The Wisconsin Department of Justice and Attorney General Brad Schimel, in conjunction with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services launched DOSE OF REALITY, a public education, awareness and prevention campaign, to address prescription opiate abuse and its spread in the state.

Since launching the DOSE OF REALITY campaign, the bi-annual Drug Take Back Days in Wisconsin have been, in the words of Attorney General Schimel, “wildly successful.” The amount of drugs collected during the Drug Take Back Days after the launch of the Dose of Reality campaign has consistently increased by 4,000-22,000 lbs, as have the number of participating agencies, and permanent drop boxes. The spring 2016 Drug Take Back amount collected was the second-highest amount of drugs collected anywhere in the United States since Drug Take Back Day was initiated. More than 50 different organizations in the state have ordered DOSE OF REALITY campaign materials to be used in their markets, including Aurora Health Care, Prevea Health, and the Wisconsin Dental Association. In addition, other states including Maine, Nebraska, and Minnesota have adopted the campaign for opiate abuse prevention efforts.
