How I started in this business…

When I was little, I was obsessed with commercial jingles, so that was kind of a dead giveaway to me and my parents that advertising and marketing was the way to go. I started taking marketing classes in college and really enjoyed them. Then, the day after graduation, I interviewed at AFFIRM, and here we are!

What I like most about my job…

Every day is so different. When I come in, I don’t exactly know what I’ll be dealing with throughout the day, but it’s always really exciting and fun. The diversity of our clients is enormous; we have accounts ranging from Qdoba, to the Department of Transportation, to the Fireside Theatre, so it’s a great combination of different things. And our team is great. We have a close-knit kind of family at AFFIRM, so it’s really nice coming to work and having that friendly atmosphere.

When I’m not at work…

If I’m not hanging out with friends or family, I love taking road trips. I also love exploring, hiking, being on the lake, or on the beach…really anything that has to do with outdoors, you can find me there!

Best advice I ever received…

Growing up, there were two things my parents always said to me, and they still say today, that have stuck with me. One is, you’ll never know unless you try. Even if you’re hesitant about something, you don’t know if it’ll turn out to be a great experience unless you try. Second, don’t sweat the small stuff, life’s too short. If you screw up, there’s always room to learn from your mistakes and do better the next time.

If I weren’t doing this…

My suitcase would be packed and I would have a plane ticket in my hand. I’d probably head to Europe and just travel, and explore all there is to see.

To me, Positively Engaging Marketing means…

We are finding a way to engage our viewers to make a positive lifestyle change. Important things like “Click it or Ticket” for the Department of Transportation, and the “Dose of Reality” campaign for the Department of Justice, those are things we want to get out to the public to make a positive impact on as many people as we can.
